Taylor Swift has released behind-the-scenes footage from her “Opalite” music video giving fans a closer look at how the viral celebrity-packed project came together.

The 36-year-old singer dropped the official video earlier this month as part of her rollout for The Life of a Showgirl which has been making headlines since its October release.

But it was Swift’s unexpected casting choice by pulling in fellow guests from The Graham Norton Show that sent the internet into overdrive.

Swift has now shared a two-part extended cut online featuring camcorder-style clips from the set, dance rehearsals and moments of her personally directing the celebrity cameos.

“The idea for the Opalite music video crash landed into my imagination when I was doing promo for The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift said in a statement.

“I was a guest on one of my favorite shows, The Graham Norton Show,” she continued, adding that she felt “ridiculous lucky” to be paired with Cillian Murphy, Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Lewis Capaldi during the episode.

According to Swift the concept took shape after Domhnall Gleeson joked about wanting to appear in one of her music videos.

“I was struck with an idea” to have him “playing the starring role,” she explained.

“I had this thought that it would be wild if all of our fellow guests on the Graham Norton show that night, including Graham himself, could be a part of it too,” she added.

“Like a school group project but for adults and it isn’t mandatory. To my delight, everyone from the show made the effort to time travel back to the 90’s with us and help with this video.”

The finished “Opalite” video quickly gained traction online with fans praising both the nostalgic '90s theme and the unexpected A-list lineup.

In the newly released behind-the-scenes footage Swift can be seen guiding scenes, rehearsing choreography and laughing between takes.

Gleeson also reflects on the moment his joke became reality.

“‘Did you see Taylor’s face after you said that?,’” Gleeson recalled someone asking him after the show. “I was like, ‘There’s no way she’s thinking about it.’”

Clearly, she was.

With the extended cut now circulating widely across social media “Opalite” continues to dominate conversation adding another viral chapter to The Life of a Showgirl era.
