Hailey Bieber reveals why she stopped being fully transparent in interviews
Hailey Bieber gets candid about living under constant public judgement
Hailey Bieber has shared her perspective on constantly being misunderstood by the public and why she has stopped being fully honest in interviews.
During a recent chat with Time magazine, the 29-year-old multiphenate star opened up about the "judgement" she receives for being the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin and the wife of pop sensation Justin Bieber.
"Being in this position, in general, there's a lot of judgment. When you're trying to figure out who you are on such a big scale and in front of so many different people, it feels really restricting to make really normal mistakes or, like, do the wrong thing or say the wrong thing," Hailey said.
She added that she feels "really uncomfortable" in interviews because her words "get twisted or things get totally misconstrued," which has led her to stop being completely truthful and transparent with people.
"I am obviously in a position where I want to share my life, and I want to be able to be by myself and be open and be exactly who I am," the Saint Laurent model admitted, noting that despite her desire to open up, it feels hard at times because people create stories they want to believe, even when they are far from reality.
However, she acknowledged that there is little she can do, as people often make up their minds before knowing the truth and simply enjoy "believing what they believe."
According to Hailey, the only way to handle the situation is to continue living her life and moving forward.
The wide-ranging interview comes after her skincare brand, Rhode, was named one of Time100's Most Influential Companies of 2026.
