Neil Blair, founder of literary and entertainment agency The Blair Partnership, has expressed confidence that the proposed Paramount–Warner Bros. merger will support the future of the Harry Potter franchise.

Speaking to Variety, Blair said he believes the deal will ultimately “honour the legacy” of the globally successful series created by J.K. Rowling, whose long-standing partnership with Warner Bros. spans films, video games, merchandise, licensing, and theme park attractions.

“We are excited by the proposed partnership with Paramount Skydance and are confident that once the transaction with Warner Bros. Discovery closes, the merged company will honour the legacy of J.K. Rowling’s ‘Harry Potter’ stories while looking ahead to the future,” Blair said.

He added that the shifting entertainment landscape makes strong studio collaboration more important than ever.

“At a time of significant change across the entertainment industry, we believe Paramount Skydance’s long-term vision and commitment to exceptional storytelling position it strongly to bring these stories to audiences around the world for years to come.”

The comments come as Warner Bros. continues to expand the wizarding world franchise, including a new reimagining of the original book series currently in production for HBO, which is expected to launch this winter.

The Harry Potter universe remains one of the most commercially powerful intellectual properties in global entertainment, and any corporate restructuring around its rights has drawn close industry attention.

Blair’s remarks reflect an effort to reassure fans and stakeholders that despite major studio consolidation, the franchise’s creative direction and cultural legacy will remain intact under the new corporate structure.
