Rumours about Katrina Kaif's return to acting have been making rounds online, but an industry source has now pushed back against the claims, saying there is no truth to the reports.

The buzz started after reports suggested that the 42-year-old, who is currently on a maternity break, had begun reading scripts and was looking at possible OTT projects. 

The reports also claimed that she was planning a comeback in the second half of 2027 and was carefully choosing a role that fit her life as both an actor and a mother.

However, a source close to the matter has dismissed the speculation.

“There is absolutely no truth to the claims being made about Katrina Kaif’s future acting plans. The report is based entirely on speculation and misinformation, with no verification."

The Tiger star was last seen in the film Merry Christmas, alongside Vijay Sethupathi. Since then, she has not announced any new acting projects.

The actor welcomed her first child with Vicky Kaushal in November 2025 and has largely stayed away from public appearances. 

Recent social media posts have instead shown glimpses of family time and holidays.

Alongside vacation pictures, Katrina wrote, "May…….. you’ve been amazing. Whichever city I go my search for the Best hot chocolate is on …… happy to say that this is the best one ever …. And the best coffee too…"

She also added, "Happy Family , but mummy has a strange hairstyle. Reza ….. my legs started hurting just looking at you Sugar Gluten Dairy Gujapati Kulapati has a cold ……. I discovered this song on all my own … absolutely nobody told me about it."
