Jamie Dornan's casting in 'Lord of the Rings: Hunt for Gollum' sparks outrage
Jamie Dornan replaces Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn
Jamie Dornan has bagged a key role in the much-anticipated movie Lord of the Rings: Hunt for Gollum.
Earlier today, Warner Bros. unveiled the official star cast of the upcoming movie that included names of actors and the roles they will be portraying in the fantasy adventure.
For instance, Andy Serkis is going to star as Gollum, Kate Winslet as Marigol, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Jamie as Strider aka Aragorn, Leo Woodall as Halvard, Lee Pace as Thranduil, and Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins.
Soon after the cast of the movie was confirmed, internet expressed their discontentment towards Dornan’s casting as strider as they think that nobody can match the level of Viggo Mortensen, who previously played the titular role.

One of the LotR fan, while praising Jamie, wrote, “I’m sure he’ll do a good job”, but he the internet user further mentioned, “that there’s only one true King of Gondor.”
Meanwhile, another one simply added, "He can’t fill those boots."
A third critic commented on X, "Jamie is good looking, a great actor, and has the clean, shy, reticent persona (& off screen personality) down pat. I can see why they chose him, BUT. Hence disregard everything I said before but."
One social media user was unable to believe that the person who played Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey has been cast as Aragorn in LotR.
"Fifty Shades of Grey dude is ARAGORN? Nothing against the actor (he was great in Once Upon a Time), but there is no reality in which the actor for Christian Grey= Aragorn."
Lord of the Rings: Hunt for Gollum is coming out in theatres on December 17, 2027.
