Hannah Montana fans, brace yourself!

Disney has released the trailer for its Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, where Miley Cyrus returns in character for the first time in 15 years.

According to Disney, the event will feature never-before-seen footage, recreated sets, and a look back at some of the show’s most memorable moments, along with “familiar notes that find their way back into the spotlight.”

The special will be filmed before a live studio audience and will include an interview with Miley Cyrus conducted by Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper.

Hannah Montana originally debuted in 2006 and ran for four seasons before concluding in 2011, earning four Emmy nominations for outstanding children’s programme.

The series followed Miley Stewart, a Malibu teenager secretly living a double life as pop star Hannah Montana, and quickly became a cultural phenomenon among younger audiences.

Its popularity even led to a big-screen adaptation, Hannah Montana: The Movie, which hit theatres in April 2009 during the show’s third season.

The cast also included Emily Osment as Lilly Truscott, Miley’s best friend, and Mitchel Musso as Oliver Oken. Miley’s real-life father, Billy Ray Cyrus, played her on-screen dad Robby, while Jason Earles starred as her brother Jackson and Moisés Arias portrayed Rico Suave, the manager of Rico’s Surf Shop.

Disney will air the special set on March 24, exactly two decades after the series first premiered on the Disney Channel.
