Riz Ahmed got his first Oscar for ‘The Long Goodbye’
British-Pakistani star Riz Ahmed has made an amusing confession about his only Oscar.
The actor admitted that he is unaware where his prestigious trophy is.
The 43-year-old received his first ever Academy for Best Live Action Short Film for The Long Goodbye in 2022.
However, the actor gave his trophy to his mother and has not seen it ever since.
He admitted to People “I went and handed it straight to my mom. She gets first dibs on any of that stuff. I actually haven't seen it for a while, so I'm hoping she knows where it is, 'cause I don't.”
The BAIT star added that his mother has kept the trophy hidden somewhere he does not know.
“She's hidden it in a place where I don't know, just that I don't throw away any of the stuff. I might throw out a box that has it in it or something.”
The actor’s 12-minute film explored themes of immigrant identity and racism. He became the first ever Muslim to win in the category.
