The singer was being treated for spider bite

American singer-actress Taylor Momsen has been rushed to hospital a week after being bitten by a venomous spider.

The singer announced that during her tour stop in Mexico, a venomous spider bit her and she was given first aid.

The Pretty Reckless frontwoman has now revealed she was rushed to hospital after the bite failed to heal and eventually developed a nasty rash on her leg that spread upwards.

In a post shared on Instagram, she gave an update writing “Hospital today, show tomorrow, poisonous spiders are NO BUENO but the show must go on, see you tomorrow Mexico City.”

She later added that doctors were concerned and decided to keep her in the hospital overnight “Or I just spend the night in the hospital … thank you to the amazing doctors who, well, they know.”

The singer later added that she was out of hospital and was available to play another show in Mexico City.

The spider bit the 32-year-old during the band's tour with rock legends AC/DC in the city.
