Lady Gaga has recently broken her silence on ICE at one of her Mayhem Ball tour stops in Tokyo this week.
Gaga was seen performing at the concert in Japan when suddenly she paused her show and addressed the audience by speaking against the growing immigration enforcement tensions in America.
In a viral clip, the Poker Face singer told the crowd that her heart is “aching” thinking about the people, the children and families all over America who are being targeted by ICE.
“I am thinking about all of their pain and how their lives are being destroyed right in front of us,” said the 39-year-old singer.
Gaga also drew attention to recent events in Minnesota, as she referred to fatal shooting of ICU nurse Alex Pretti by federal agents – an incident that sparked protects nationwide.
Bad Romance crooner further said that she’s “thinking about Minnesota and everyone back at home who is living in so much fear and searching for answers on what we all should do”.
Gaga noted, “When entire communities lose their sense of safety and belonging, it breaks something in all of us.”
The singer expressed hope that everyone would stand together, united, against the oppression.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Gaga, who has earned seven Grammy nominations this year, is also going to perform at 68th Annual Grammy Awards on February 1.
