Written by creator Steven Knight and directed by Tom Harper the film continues the story during an even darker time for both the family and the country.

Cillian Murphy returns as Tommy Shelby a role he had once said he was ready to leave behind.

But he told Netflix, “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me.” “It is very gratifying to be re collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans," he added.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man plot details

According to Netflix, the film is set in Birmingham in 1940 as the Second World War spreads across Europe. Tommy living in self-imposed exile is forced to return home when the chaos of war collides with unfinished business from his past. What follows is a dark struggle for survival and perhaps redemption.

“The country is at war and so of course are our Peaky Blinders,” Knight told Netflix. “It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war."

Peaky Blinders movie cast revealed

The film brings back familiar faces and introduces several new ones. Cillian Murphy leads the cast alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, Jay Lycurgo, Barry Keoghan and Stephen Graham. The combination of longtime cast members and strong performers from film and TV adds depth to the story’s darker wartime tone.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will release in select theatres on March 6, 2026 and will be available for streaming on Netflix from March 20, 2026.
