Dressed in a crisp black three-piece tuxedo by Gaurav Gupta, the 33-year-old diva also faced backlash and trolling on social media, with netizens accusing her of 'overacting'. She shared the stage with comedian Zakir Khan and actor Sunil Grover.

Many online users felt she came across as “high-pitched” and “nervous” during her debut as a host, with several saying her jokes did not quite land or get the audience laughing.

However, despite facing criticism, the Jigra actor didn’t opt to remain silent. She shared some unseen glimpses from the evening and expressed her excitement in the caption.

She wrote, “Ladies and gentleman boys and girls last night was spent celebrating the magic ON screen and the magicians OFF screen”

Expressing gratitude towards her co-hosts, she added, “My first as a host and I couldn’t have asked for better-more hilarious & fabulous co-hosts @whosunilgrover @zakirkhan_208”
