After a strong run at the box office, Indian actor Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar 2 moved towards its digital release, with reports stating that it would stream on JioHotstar instead of Netflix.

The sequel followed the success of the first film, which had performed well in cinemas and later streamed on Netflix. Industry reports had suggested that both parts were earlier considered for a combined digital deal.

A trade source was quoted as saying, “Netflix wanted to buy both the instalments together at a sum of Rs. 175 crores prior to the release of the first part.”

However, the plan had changed after the film’s theatrical success. The source added, “With immense faith in their product, Jio Studios waited for the first part release, and have secured a humongous deal of Rs. 150 crores for the second part alone.”

According to reports, the deal was seen as one of the major digital agreements in recent times. The same source stated, “The Rs. 150 crores received by Jio Studios is one of the biggest digital deals in the last few years.”

The film had also gained attention on streaming platforms before. Reports stated that despite not releasing in some international markets, including parts of the Gulf region, audiences had watched it online in large numbers.

It was reported that the film reached top positions in regional streaming charts, showing strong viewer interest across digital platforms.

As of now, there had been no official statement from the makers regarding the exact release date on JioHotstar.
