Shahid Kapoor wants kids Misha, Zain to stay close to normal life
He shared how he and his wife Mira Rajput tried to raise their children away from constant public attention
Indian actor Shahid Kapoor spoke about parenting, fame and keeping life grounded in a recent interview with Hindustan Times.
The Kabir Signh actor shared how he and his wife Mira Rajput, tried to raise their children, Misha and Zain, away from constant public attention.
Shahid said he remained aware that his children would eventually understand his public life, but he made efforts not to highlight it at home. He explained that normal routines mattered most during their growing years.
“I want them to stay as close to normalcy as they can. But beyond a point, it's what it is,” Shahid said.
He added that as his children grew older, they came more aware of his work, but the family did not actively discuss fame unless questions came up.
“If any questions come up, we try to answer them in the best way that we can as parents,” the Jab We Met actor said.
The Vivah actor shared that he preferred staying detached from the star label and focused on keeping his personal life grounded.
He said fame often became overwhelming and could distance people from their true selves.
“The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that authenticity comes from knowing yourself deeply and not trying to fit into anyone else's expectations,” Shahid said.
Earlier, former actress Neelima Azeem opened up about the special place her grandchildren hold in her life.
During her latest conversation, the 67-year-old writer shared her close and loving relationship with Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput’s children, Misha and Zain.
In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, the former classical dancer stated, “I have formed a very deep and beautiful bond with them, a very honest one. They are the rainbows of our lives, and chandni bhi vohi hai aur suraj bhi vohi hai."
Additionally, she mentioned that she shares an honest and beautiful connection with Misha and Zain, calling them the “light and colour” of her world. While they address her as Dadi, she lovingly prefers being called “Dadijaan,” a name they sometimes use to make her happy.
On the work side, Shahid was last seen in the action packed film Deva. His next projects include Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’Romeo, releasing in February 2026, and a spiritual sequel to Cocktail, currently titled Cocktail 2, starring Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, both slated for 2026.
